Planned Giving/Arbor Society

 Dick Power, Chair

In the past, several individuals have made bequests to Epiphany which has, over time, become important to the financial health of the parish.  The Epiphany Arbor Society encourages parishioners to consider planned giving and grants membership in the society for those who participate in planned giving.

The Wardens and Vestry urge members of the parish to consult with a financial professional or an attorney knowledgeable in estates and trusts and consider the variety of alternatives that may be advantageous to both the church and the donor or his/her estate.  All gifts are free of federal tax.  Some alternatives to consider are: (a) a bequest in your will in which you leave a percentage of your estate, a cash amount, individual securities or property to Epiphany, (b) a gift through life insurance, (c) naming Epiphany as a contingent beneficiary in your will or trust, or (d) a charitable remained trust which names Epiphany as the remainder beneficiary.
